Dette næste bind i den prisvindende Bootleg Series fortæller historien om Bob Dylans fremkomst og udvikling som sangskriver og performer – fra hans tid i Minnesota til bohemelivet i Greenwich Village i begyndelsen af 1960’erne. Udgivelsen indeholder sjældne outtakes fra Columbia Records, samt optagelser fra klubkoncerter, små uformelle sammenkomster, venners lejligheder og jam sessions på musiksteder, der for længst er forsvundet.

2CD Highlights-udgaven rummer i alt 42 numre, hvoraf 18 aldrig før er udgivet, og 9 er ekstremt sjældne optagelser.
