Wish You Were Here 50 giver fans et spændende nyt perspektiv på et af Pink Floyds mest ikoniske og elskede albums. 50-års jubilæumsudgaven indeholder flere diske med sjældenheder – kernen i denne særlige samling er seks hidtil uudgivne alternative versioner og demoer, som præsenterer Pink Floyds ottende studiealbum på en helt ny måde, der indbyder til gentagne gennemlytninger.
Sættet inkluderer en Blu-ray med et Dolby Atmos-mix for første gang skabt af James Guthrie, samt 25 bonusnumre bestående af ni studieoptagelser og 16 liveoptagelser, fanget af den legendariske bootlegger Mike Millard ved Pink Floyds koncert i Los Angeles Sports Arena den 26. april 1975 – nu udgivet officielt for første gang. Live-lyden er minutiøst restaureret og remasteret af Steven Wilson. Blu-ray’en giver desuden fans mulighed for at opleve tre koncertfilm fra bandets 1975-turné samt en kortfilm af Storm Thorgerson.
De to CD’er og fire LP’er (på eksklusivt gennemsigtigt vinyl) indeholder det originale album plus ni studie-bonusnumre. Eksklusivt for dette sæt er en fjerde vinyl-LP, Live At Wembley 1974, samt en replika af den japanske 7” single Have A Cigar b/w Welcome To The Machine, en hardcover-bog med hidtil usete fotografier, et tegneserie-tourprogram og en Knebworth-plakat.
Med numre som Shine On You Crazy Diamond, det hypnotiske Welcome To The Machine, det skarpe Have a Cigar og den uundværlige titelmelodi, er Wish You Were Here uden tvivl en af de vigtigste albumudgivelser i populærmusikkens historie.
