Richard Ashcroft udgav i 2016 sit femte studiealbum, These People. Ashcroft dannede i slutningen af 80'erne rockbandet The Verve, hvor han også var forsanger. Nu, da The Verve ikke længere er sammen, er det Richards tur til selv at udgive sin musik. Richard Ashcroft drømmer stadig om, at blive større end bandet The Verve.
