This first edition, published in November 2018, takes you through the untamed beauty of southern Morocco’s Anti-Atlas mountains. The guide focuses on the area around Tafraout and the Ameln Valley, presenting 41 exciting routes that vary in length and difficulty. These include notable spots like Jebel el Kest, Adra Mkorn, and Ait Mansour, along with an outline for a week-long trek across the north-west Anti-Atlas.

The walks range from moderate to challenging, while the scrambles span Grades 1 to 3+, with some sections requiring ropes. These often remote and demanding routes are best suited for experienced walkers and scramblers who have strong navigation skills.

Each route is supported by detailed maps and some photo topos to help you navigate tricky areas. Beyond the routes, the guidebook dives into the local culture, history, and people, making it an essential resource for planning your trip.

The Anti-Atlas mountains stretch over 300km northeast from the Atlantic Ocean to Jebel Sirwa, the region’s highest peak at 3305m. This guide covers more than 4000 square kilometers in the north-western part of the range. The landscapes are spectacular and varied, featuring mountains, gorges, valleys, and desert scenery.
