Beskrivelse
Bank & Rau, the artist duo consisting of Lone Bank and Tanja Rau, create works that span installation, sculpture, and performance. Their art delves into themes like systems of labor, care, institutions, and communal living through the use of materials, bodies, and spatial arrangements.
An in-depth look at Bank & Rau’s artistic exploration of collective life and institutional systems.
This beautifully illustrated book marks the first comprehensive documentation of Bank & Rau’s extensive body of work. It features insightful essays by writer and art critic Louise Steiwer, cultural studies scholar Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt, curator Seolhui Lee, and curator and art historian Camilla Jalving. Together, these texts offer a thorough understanding of the duo’s dynamic creations leading up to their 2026 exhibition, Couples Therapy, at SMK, National Gallery of Denmark.
The book is presented in both English and Danish, making it accessible to a wider audience interested in contemporary art and the themes Bank & Rau investigate.
