Beskrivelse
The world around us is shifting, and the knowledge we once relied on no longer offers clear answers. As a result, the ways we typically respond and behave are becoming less effective in today’s society.
Polymodernity offers a fresh framework to better understand ourselves and the complex societies we live in.
Our old cultural compass struggles to interpret the world accurately because the challenges we face now were not present when we first learned about the world. Social norms that once made us seem polite can now be perceived as offensive, and a solid education no longer guarantees a secure job upon graduation.
Polymodernity helps us appreciate and strengthen cultural heritage at local, national, continental, and global levels. It offers a way to overcome the fear of losing cultural identity amid disruptions caused by the global economy, the internet, and rapid technological changes.
Originally published under the title Metamodernity, this book explores how we can navigate and adapt to these evolving societal dynamics.
