Beskrivelse
Each church is described in detail, both in words and photographs. Maps make it easy to find yourr wway to the churches. A number of tours are suggested.
The stave churches are about 1000 years old. They were built using construction techniques developed by the vikings before the Christian religion was adopted in Norway. The use of carved wood together with a complex building style make the buildings architecturally unique. One of them is on the UNESCO list of Hetirage properties. They were all built in medieval time when tools were limited, which makes them all the more special and worth a visit.
