Set just outside a town thirty miles from Istanbul, a skilled well-digger and his eager apprentice take on the tough task of digging for water on a barren landscape. As they work tirelessly under the scorching summer sun, their relationship deepens into a unique father-and-son dynamic neither had experienced before.
Evenings are spent in the nearby town, where the young apprentice becomes captivated by a striking woman with red hair. She is part of a traveling theatre troupe and seems just as intrigued by him. This enchanting distraction leads to a tragic accident, the consequences of which the boy will unknowingly carry with him for years.
Only much later does he come to understand the true identity of the Red-Haired Woman and the full impact of that fateful encounter.
