During one of Denmark's most turbulent periods-from the devastating siege of Copenhagen and the fall of the monarchy to a rising wave of nationalism sweeping across Europe-artists captured the spirit of change. This volume showcases 90 works, including drawings, paintings, and oil sketches by renowned figures such as Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, Christen Kobke, Constantin Hansen, Martinus Rorbye, Johan Thomas Lundbye, and Vilhelm Hammershoi.
