Creation Lake

Beskrivelse

Creation Lake follows Sadie Smith, a sharp American undercover agent sent to a remote part of France to investigate a radical eco-activist commune. The story dives deep into espionage, ideology, and the clash between past and future.

An intense tale of infiltration, idealism, and the search for enlightenment.

Sadie Smith works for powerful, secretive employers who dispatch her to a secluded French region. Her goal is to penetrate a commune led by Bruno Lacombe, an enigmatic elder who has turned his back on modern civilization. Living in a Neanderthal cave, Bruno preaches a return to primitivism as the key to enlightenment.

As Sadie surveys the ancient farms and quiet villages around her, she initially views Bruno’s idealism with cynicism and amusement. Confident in her role as the manipulative seductress controlling those she watches, she soon finds herself captivated by Bruno’s compelling counter-narratives, his poignant laments, and the tragic story that shapes him.

At its core, this gripping novel is about a woman caught between history and the future, wrapped in a dazzling plot of espionage and intrigue. It also offers a profound reflection on human history and the forces that shape our world.
