Introspection And Time

Beskrivelse

Introspection and Time is the debut book by 23-year-old Faroese composer Bjarni Haraldson Blaasvær, featuring a collection of short stories and poetry. The author, also a storyteller and gamemaster, invites readers on a personal journey marked by loneliness and rejection.

A close-up exploration of human emotions and transformative moments through poetic storytelling.

Bjarni Haraldson Blaasvær’s first book offers a unique blend of short stories and poetry, where each piece delves into intense, often rite-of-passage moments. The stories avoid anchoring themselves in any specific time or place, instead focusing on universal themes like the pain of self-growth, the feeling of not belonging, and the struggle to find happiness.

The narratives explore a variety of emotions, including dissatisfaction, emptiness, and the complex justification of causing pain. They also touch on the human tendency to objectify anthropomorphic beings, all while encouraging deep introspection.

The book’s cover features a painting by Bjarni himself, symbolizing the theme of togetherness and the joy found in shared moments. The artwork depicts two people dancing in harmony, with colors that capture fleeting instances frozen in time.
