A gripping and thought-provoking story about love, power, and the blurred lines of abuse.

Vanessa Wye was just fifteen when she first became involved with her English teacher, Jacob Strane. Years later, in 2017, as accusations against influential men come to light, Jacob faces new claims of sexual abuse from another former student. This revelation shakes Vanessa to her core because she has always believed their relationship was love, not abuse.

Now 32, Vanessa must revisit her memories and reconsider everything she thought she knew about her past. What once felt like a passionate awakening is forced into a painful new light-as rape. She struggles to come to terms with the possibility that she might be one of many victims.

Bold, unsettling, and deeply nuanced, My Dark Vanessa confronts some of the most difficult and complex issues of our time, challenging readers to question the nature of consent, power, and truth.
