This book showcases the findings from an extensive Greek-Danish research effort focusing on the ancient harbours of Piraeus, especially Zea Harbour. The study spans several periods between 2003 and 2012, revealing valuable underwater archaeological insights.
Insights from a decade-long collaborative exploration of Zea Harbour in Piraeus.
The research detailed in this volume is the outcome of eight years of joint work between Greek and Danish teams, carried out during 2003-2005, 2007-2010, and 2012. The primary focus was on Zea Harbour, located in the Piraeus area.
This extensive fieldwork was conducted by the Zea Harbour Project (ZHP) in close cooperation with the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities, the Ephorate of West Attica, Piraeus and Islands, as well as the Danish Institute at Athens (DIA).
The publication includes detailed plates to complement the findings and provide visual documentation of the archaeological work.
