Beskrivelse
This is the memoir of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, sharing the story behind one of the most transformative inventions of our time. It captures how the web reshaped human life and society.
A personal and insightful account of the web's creation and its profound impact on our digital world.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, a pioneering figure born alongside tech icons like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, changed the world by inventing the World Wide Web. Unlike many inventors, he chose to share his creation freely, without seeking commercial gain, sparking a revolution that turned humanity into the first digital species.
Through this intimate memoir, Berners-Lee reveals the journey of his groundbreaking invention and how it opened a new chapter of creativity and collaboration. Yet, he also reflects on the commercial competition that followed, which now threatens democracies and fuels divisions in public discourse.
As artificial intelligence ushers in another wave of innovation, Berners-Lee offers a thoughtful guide to the critical choices that lie ahead. With his trademark optimism, sharp technical understanding, and subtle humor, he explores technology’s dual power: to both challenge our worst tendencies and enrich our lives.
This Is for Everyone stands as a vital read for anyone wanting to grasp the forces shaping our era and a compelling call to action for steering humanity’s future in a positive direction.
