Time Is A Mother

Beskrivelse

Time is a Mother is a powerful poetry collection by Ocean Vuong, exploring grief and survival after the loss of his mother. This deeply personal work follows the themes that made his previous novel widely acclaimed.

A heartfelt exploration of loss, family, and resilience in the face of grief.

In his second poetry collection, Ocean Vuong delves into the raw emotions and aftermath of his mother's death. Through vivid and courageous poems, he captures the tension of living within grief while striving to move beyond it.

Time is a Mother confronts themes of personal loss, the meaning of family, and the pursuit of joy amidst a fractured American spirit. Vuong’s work remains bold and urgent, speaking directly to our shared humanity while reflecting the present moment.

Building on the success of his debut poetry collection Night Sky with Exit Wounds, which earned him the 2016 Whiting Award, the 2017 T. S. Eliot Prize, and a 2019 MacArthur Fellowship, Vuong continues to establish himself as a leading voice of his generation.

This collection is both a return and a forward movement-an intimate testament to tenderness amid violence and a powerful confirmation of Vuong’s place in contemporary poetry.
