Winter Of The World

Beskrivelse

Winter of the World is the gripping second installment in Ken Follett's Century trilogy, weaving together personal stories against the backdrop of global turmoil. Whether read alone or alongside Fall of Giants and Edge of Eternity, it delivers a powerful and immersive historical epic.

A sweeping tale of love, loyalty, and conflict during the rise of fascism and the approach of World War II.

Set in 1933, the story begins at Cambridge where Lloyd Williams finds himself captivated by Daisy Peshkov, a glamorous socialite who stands in stark contrast to his left-wing family’s beliefs. However, Daisy’s heart leans toward Boy Fitzherbert, an aristocrat deeply involved with the British Union of Fascists.

Meanwhile, in Berlin, young Carla von Ulrich faces the growing unrest tearing her family apart as Hitler tightens his hold on Germany. Many characters are determined to resist Hitler’s ruthless regime, but the question remains-how far will they go, and will they risk betraying their own country?

As tyranny spreads and war looms, the lives of five interconnected families become increasingly intertwined. This international struggle of military might and personal convictions shapes the fate of those caught in the storm of history.
