Friends Of Dorothy

Beskrivelse

A witty and heartwarming novel by Sandi Toksvig, Friends of Dorothy follows a young married couple as they settle into their dream home, only to discover unexpected surprises. What begins as a perfect life in Grimaldi Square soon takes an unpredictable turn.

A charming story about unconventional family bonds and unexpected friendships.

Amber and Stevie, a happily married couple, believe they have finally found their ideal home in Grimaldi Square. Despite the shabby pub nearby, an untended garden, and a rather nosy neighbour, number 4 feels like the perfect place for them.

Stevie, who never leaves anything to chance, has meticulously planned every detail to ensure their happiness remains unspoiled. However, their plans are quickly upended when they discover Dorothy, the previous owner, still comfortably settled upstairs on an old red sofa.

At eighty years old, Dorothy is foul-mouthed, straight-talking, and full of sharp wit-and she has no intention of moving out anytime soon. As it turns out, Dorothy is just the beginning of a series of life-changing surprises for the couple.

Friends of Dorothy is a touching and humorous tale about a family formed not by blood, but by choice-a story that resonates deeply with Sandi Toksvig’s own experiences.
