Mrs Dalloway

Beskrivelse

Mrs Dalloway follows Clarissa Dalloway on a beautiful June day as she prepares for the party she will host that evening. The story weaves between her present moments and memories, revealing the people who have shaped her life.

A vivid exploration of memory, identity, and the quiet struggles beneath everyday life.

On a flawless June morning, Clarissa Dalloway-stylish, sophisticated, wealthy, and a skilled hostess-sets out to buy flowers for the evening's party. As she moves through her day, her thoughts drift between the present and her past, bringing to light the characters who have influenced her along the way.

Meanwhile, Septimus Warren Smith, a war veteran haunted by his experiences in the Great War, takes his own life on this very day. When his death is casually mentioned at Clarissa’s party, it stirs within her a deep reflection on her own feelings of solitude and isolation.

Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway stands as a bold and innovative work of twentieth-century fiction, growing richer with each reading. This edition from the Collector’s Library also includes an insightful afterword by editor and publisher Anna South, adding further depth to this modernist masterpiece.
