Kathmandu is a captivating city, but beneath its charm lies a reality of poverty experienced by many. This book explores the lives of the city's poor, revealing their struggles and daily existence.

While wandering through Kathmandu, you encounter numerous individuals living in poverty-beggars, street vendors, holy men, and others. How do they manage day to day? Can they afford education for their children? What are their living conditions like? And what about their family lives?

These questions inspired the author, who after multiple visits to Kathmandu, decided to uncover the answers firsthand. He spent considerable time in the city, engaging directly with the poor, photographing them, and occasionally visiting their homes.

This book does not claim to solve the pressing issue of poverty in Kathmandu or Nepal as a whole. Instead, it offers a personal, on-the-ground account that sheds light on the harsh realities faced by a few individuals living in extreme poverty.

The author is a writer, photographer, and mountaineer with many trips to Nepal under his belt, often for climbing adventures. He holds a genuine affection for the poor people of Kathmandu, which shines through in this heartfelt portrayal.
