The Beekeeper Of Aleppo

Beskrivelse

A beekeeper and his artist wife live a peaceful life in Aleppo until war shatters their world. Forced to flee, they embark on a perilous journey through Turkey and Greece toward an uncertain future in Britain.

A poignant tale of love, loss, and resilience amid the chaos of war and displacement.

Nuri tends to his beehives in the Syrian countryside, while his wife Afra sells her vibrant landscape paintings at a local market. Their simple, joyful life surrounded by family and friends in Aleppo is destroyed by conflict, leaving them with no choice but to escape.

Afra's blindness adds a heartbreaking challenge as Nuri guides them through dangerous terrain and emotional turmoil. Their path leads them across Turkey and Greece, with hope resting on Nuri’s cousin Mustafa, who has established a beekeeping apiary in Yorkshire, helping refugees rebuild their lives.

As they navigate a fractured world, Nuri and Afra face unimaginable pain and threats that test their courage. Above all, they must find their way back to each other, rediscovering a connection made fragile by displacement and loss.

Beautifully written and deeply moving, The Beekeeper of Aleppo captures the fragility of peaceful lives shattered by war and brings a distant journey painfully close to home.
