In a Copenhagen park, the body of an elderly woman is found, echoing a cold case from over ten years ago. Despite the eerie similarities, the police can't link the two victims. Meanwhile, across the city, young women are being targeted in seemingly random assaults. Could these violent incidents be connected?

Detective Carl Mørck and his Department Q team are tasked with cracking the case. Pressure mounts as their superiors demand results, threatening the very existence of the division if they fail.

But solving the mystery isn't their only challenge. After a breakdown, their colleague Rose battles with haunting memories from her past-memories that appear tied to one of the team's darkest unsolved files.

Now, Carl, Assad, and Gordon must uncover the grim and violent truth behind Rose's history before it's too late, all while navigating the dangerous case that could make or break their unit.
