Beskrivelse

Set in post-World War II London, Warlight is a haunting and evocative novel about memory, family secrets, and the blurred lines between truth and deception. It follows young Nathaniel as he navigates a mysterious and uncertain world left behind by his absent parents.

A captivating tale of hidden pasts and the search for truth in a city recovering from war.

London in 1945 is still recovering from the devastation of the war. Fourteen-year-old Nathaniel and his older sister Rachel find themselves abandoned when their parents leave the country on business, placing them in the care of a shadowy figure known only as The Moth.

Under The Moth’s watch, Nathaniel becomes involved with a group of unconventional characters, embarking on risky escapades like smuggling greyhounds for illegal races and secret nighttime meetings in deserted buildings. But the real question is: can this strange circle be trusted? What lies beneath their eccentric façades?

Meanwhile, Nathaniel is haunted by the mystery of his mother’s departure. Was the reason she gave for leaving genuine, or was there something deeper she was hiding? As an adult, Nathaniel begins to unravel the truth by piecing together intelligence files and sifting through memories, imagination, and reality to uncover the secrets buried in his family’s past.
