When the much-anticipated supply ship finally docks, her existence is forever altered. What follows is a brutal struggle for life and death, as nothing remains the same in this remote Norse community, surrounded by endless snow and ice at the edge of the world.

In a tense and violent moment, Sigridur fights back against an assault, grabbing a pewter jug and striking with all her might.
