Building on insights from the whale culture of Greenland, as revealed by rock carvings in Eastern Greenland, the author and a group of enthusiasts constructed an airship modeled on what a hunter-gatherer society might have created during the Holocene Maximum. Their goal was to fly this craft around Greenland, using only fuel sourced from hunting.

This book recounts their adventurous hot-air balloon journey, tracing a route northward around Greenland, then down the west coast, before returning to the east. Along the way, they faced numerous challenges and dangerous situations, testing their resolve and skills.
