With no other option, he brought her into his bustling, often eccentric family home in Liverpool.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Turner first encountered Grahame when he was a young actor living in London. She was best known for playing captivating femme fatales in films such as The Big Heat, Oklahoma, and The Bad and the Beautiful-the latter earning her an Oscar.
Grahame captivated audiences with her intense expressions and heavy-lidded eyes, often portraying dark and dangerous heroines. Though their romantic relationship ended, Turner and Grahame remained close friends. When she needed someone most, it was to him that she turned.
