Beskrivelse
A vivid glimpse into the life and experiences of Ramsalte, reflecting on his time in Borneo’s jungles and the local cultures he encountered.
A poetic expression intertwined with heartfelt memories from the rivers and longhouses of Borneo.
LIKE A PUPPET ON A STRING, I’M THE DANCER WHEN YOU SING. I’M THE JOKER, YOU’RE THE KING. LIKE A TOY ON A STRING, SILVER BELLS MADE TO RING, NUMBER ONE DING-A-LING.
Ramsalte has spent significant time living and working in Miri, Sarawak, and Kuala Belait, Brunei. His journeys took him deep into the rivers and jungles of Borneo, where he visited the local Iban and Dayak communities.
He cherished the moments spent in the longhouses, home to some of the young men he worked with on offshore oil rigs, as well as the young girls employed as amas in expatriate households. These experiences remain treasured memories that continue to bring him joy.
