When the first edition of Soul, Beautify Thyself was published, P. V. Glob, the esteemed Danish Keeper of National Antiquities, shared his thoughts in the Danish newspaper Politiken. It first appeared in 1611 in a Jesuit priest's account, referring to these people as "eskimautsik," meaning those who eat raw meat.
