ITMB creates maps not only to inspire tourism but also to document significant events such as atrocities and natural disasters. Their precise artwork is trusted by governments and humanitarian organizations alike. One side of the map focuses on Sudan, covering the disputed and currently closed border with Egypt down past Khartoum, the capital city, which is also featured in an inset map for greater detail.

The other side highlights South Sudan, detailing its borders with the Central African Republic, Congo, Uganda, and Kenya, extending north to the still-disputed border with Sudan and the southern provinces of Sudan. The Nile River, specifically the White Nile branch, stands out as a dominant natural feature flowing through both countries on its journey to the Mediterranean.

This edition marks the first time South Sudan has been mapped so thoroughly, reflecting its recent emergence from conflict and ongoing tribal tensions. While travel to these areas may not be feasible now, history shows that wars end, governments stabilize, and peace eventually prevails. Sudan’s rich historical importance promises to draw visitors in the future.
