An in-depth exploration of spatial planning in Denmark's largest ghetto area through student projects.
The booklet compiles the efforts of bachelor students in Civil Engineering and Architecture as they engaged in a simulated spatial planning process targeting Vollsmose. This area in Odense has been officially classified as a ghetto, meeting all the criteria on the ghetto list and labeled as a hard ghetto. With around 6,800 residents in 2021, Vollsmose stands as Denmark’s largest ghetto area.
Organized into three key chapters-analysis, strategy, and masterplan-the booklet mirrors the three phases of the planning simulation. It highlights the students' impressive work and contributes fresh perspectives on territorial challenges and dynamics within this complex urban context.
