An epic tale of mystery and military strategy within the enigmatic Chiss Ascendancy.

Far beyond the galaxy's edge lies the Unknown Regions-a chaotic and largely uncharted expanse filled with hidden perils. At its heart is the Ascendancy, home to the secretive Chiss species and governed by the powerful Nine Ruling Families.

When a sudden and untraceable attack strikes the Chiss capital, the peace and stability of the Ascendancy are shattered. In response, one of their brightest young officers is sent on a mission to uncover the elusive enemy behind the assault.

This officer is a recruit without noble birth, adopted into the influential Mitth family and known as Thrawn. Supported by the formidable Expansionary Fleet and his trusted ally Admiral Ar'alani, Thrawn begins to unravel the mystery.

As his first command ventures deeper into the vast expanse called the Chaos, Thrawn soon realizes that the mission is far more complex than it appears. The danger facing the Ascendancy is only just beginning to reveal itself.
