Circe

Beskrivelse

Circe, the enthralling novel by Madeline Miller, tells the story of a goddess born into the house of Helios, the sun god. This tale follows her journey from rejection and exile to discovering her own power and place in the world.

A modern retelling of the mythological witch Circe, exploring her struggle between divine heritage and mortal love.

In the realm of the mighty Titan Helios, a daughter named Circe is born, unlike her powerful father or her enchanting mother. She is neither terrifying nor beautiful, but something different entirely.

Rejected and scorned, Circe is eventually cast out from her father's home due to her dark magical abilities. Alone on the isolated island of Aiaia, she must rely on her intelligence and sorcery to survive.

Her solitude brings danger, as both gods and men resent her independence and formidable powers. To protect those she cherishes, Circe faces a profound choice: to align herself with the gods she descends from or the mortals she has grown to love.

Complex, passionate, and deeply human, Circe emerges from ancient myth to become a heroine who resonates across time, brilliantly brought to life by Madeline Miller, the acclaimed author of The Song of Achilles.
