Beskrivelse
Paul Sheldon has finally killed off his famous character Misery Chastain, feeling both relief and excitement to move on from the bestselling series. But after a car crash, he wakes up trapped far from help, at the mercy of a devoted fan.
A chilling story of obsession and survival unfolds when a writer faces the consequences of his own creation.
Misery Chastain is dead-at least, that's what Paul Sheldon thought. Having made a fortune from the beloved heroine, he was eager to leave her behind and focus on more serious work. Then a car accident changes everything.
Paul wakes up in a strange bed, in pain, and quickly realizes he’s not in a hospital. Annie Wilkes, a nurse and his number one fan, rescued him from the wreck and brought him to her isolated mountain home. She’s taken care of his broken legs with splints and painkillers, but her devotion comes with a dark side.
When Annie discovers that Paul has killed off Misery, she is furious. Her obsession turns dangerous, and Paul soon understands that to survive, he must bring Misery back to life-no matter the cost.
