Mont Blanc, straddling the border between France and Italy with Switzerland nearby, stands out as the most famous and stunning peak in the Alps. While its summit is too demanding for most climbers, the surrounding area offers plenty of accessible outdoor activities.

Mont Blanc reaches an impressive height of 4,807.81 metres and is safeguarded by Italy’s Monte Bianco National Park. Although the peak itself is a tough climb for many, the lower areas are filled with ski lifts and hiking paths that make the region inviting for outdoor enthusiasts.

Connecting France and Italy, a long tunnel runs beneath the mountain-linking Chamonix on the French side with Courmayeur in Italy. Additionally, scenic highways run along the mountain’s western side in France (the D1506) and its southern side in Italy (the SS26).

For hikers, the Grande Route is a long-distance trail encircling Mont Blanc, featuring numerous overnight stops in towns or mountain refuges. This map showcases the entire route and comes with two covers: one highlighting Mont Blanc and the other focusing on the broader Alps, catering to different interests and audiences.
