A touching story of hope and hardship on a cold Christmas night.

This heartbreaking story centers on a little girl who freezes on Christmas Eve, refusing to return home due to fear of her abusive father. Each time she strikes a match to keep warm, she is greeted by vivid, comforting visions: a plump goose rising from a plate, a sparkling Christmas tree adorned with toys, and the loving presence of her late grandmother.

The book features delicate illustrations by the talented Italian artist Eleonora Simeoni, whose artwork gently softens the story’s sorrow and helps young readers connect with the narrative.
