The Little Prince: And Letter To A Hostage

Beskrivelse

A timeless fable of love and loneliness, The Little Prince follows a stranded pilot in the Sahara Desert whose encounter with a mysterious little prince changes everything. This beautifully clothbound edition brings Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic story back to life with its original enchanting illustrations.

An enduring allegory that explores imagination, friendship, and the mysteries of life.

First published in 1943, just a year before Saint-Exupéry’s plane disappeared during a reconnaissance mission over the Mediterranean, The Little Prince remains as powerful as ever. The story begins with a pilot stranded in the vast Sahara Desert, desperately trying to fix his downed plane.

His solitude is broken when a small, enigmatic prince appears and asks him to draw a sheep. The pilot recalls, “In the face of an overpowering mystery, you don't dare disobey.” Despite the absurdity of the request, far from any inhabited place and facing danger, he takes out paper and pen to begin an extraordinary conversation.

Their dialogue sparks a journey of imagination, innocence, and wonder, inviting readers of all ages to reflect on life’s deeper meanings. This edition, designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith, features the original iconic illustrations that have captured the hearts of generations since its debut in France.
