Words for the Road V is the fifth installment in George Manus's series, featuring 141 fresh reflections and puns. This edition brings the total number of entries across the series to 600.

A continuation of thoughtful reflections, building on the previous four volumes.

This volume, subtitled "141 short reflections and puns," is dedicated to the idea of continuation. While it follows the first four books of the same name, the continuation doesn’t necessarily mean repeating the same themes. In fact, much of the content for this fifth book was already drafted before the fourth volume was even published.

Included in the book is a brief reflection on continuation, originally written in 1994 and reproduced on page 18. Though this reflection explores continuation in a different context, it ties into the overall theme of the book.

Most of the entries were initially written in Norwegian and later translated into English. Readers are kindly asked to be understanding of the English versions, as they may not always capture the exact rhythm and meaning of the original Norwegian text.

Like the previous volumes, the table of contents is arranged alphabetically in both English and Norwegian. In the book, the English entries appear first, followed by their Norwegian counterparts.
