Chosen Ones

Beskrivelse

Fifteen years ago, five teenagers were chosen to defeat a devastating force known as the Dark One. Now, years later, their battle might not be over-and the consequences could be even more personal and dangerous than before.

The Chosen Ones must confront a new threat that challenges everything they thought they knew about their past and their purpose.

Written by Veronica Roth, the bestselling author of the Divergent series, Chosen Ones follows the lives of five teens once hailed as heroes for stopping the Dark One, a powerful enemy whose catastrophic attacks, called Drains, destroyed cities and took countless lives across North America.

After their victory, the world moved on, but the Chosen Ones struggled to find their place. Their lives, shaped entirely by their magical fight against evil, left them with little experience beyond destruction. Among them, Sloane faces the toughest challenges. While others chalk up her struggles to PTSD and a difficult attitude, she harbors secrets that keep her isolated from the only people who truly understand her.

On the tenth anniversary of the Dark One’s defeat, tragedy strikes when one of the Chosen Ones dies. As the group reunites for the funeral, they uncover a shocking truth: the Dark One’s ambitions were far greater than anyone imagined-beyond prophecy, beyond governments, and beyond the world itself.

Now, the Chosen Ones must face a threat that demands more from Sloane than she might be able to give, forcing them to fight once again for a cause that could change everything.
