An intimate photographic journey through a year in the life of Patti Smith.

In 2018, Patti Smith began sharing photos on Instagram with no set plan, starting with a simple image of her hand and the message "Hello Everybody!" Known for her iconic Land Camera 250, she expanded her posts to include snapshots from her phone capturing portraits of her children, everyday objects like her boots and radiator, and her Abyssinian cat, Cairo.

These images quickly resonated with followers, offering small yet meaningful views into Smith's world. From her morning coffee to the books she reads, and visits to the graves of revered figures such as William Blake, Dylan Thomas, Sylvia Plath, Simone Weil, and Albert Camus, her photos weave a story of a life deeply committed to art.

The book also features vintage photographs, including anniversary pearls, a mother's keychain, and a husband's Mosrite guitar, alongside never-before-seen shots from life on the road, train stations, and quiet cafes. Smith’s daily notes add a personal touch, sharing reflections and travel experiences from around the globe.

With 365 photographs spanning a full year, A Book of Days invites readers to explore the expansive mind of this visionary poet, writer, and performer. Poignant, playful, and thoughtful, the book includes an introduction by Smith that delves into her creative documentary process, making it a timeless and inspiring companion for uncertain times.
