Beskrivelse
"Jodo Notebook" is a fully illustrated guide covering the basic techniques of Shindo Muso Ryu (SMR) and the Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei (ZNKR), along with the 12 Kata of Seitei Jodo. It serves as a valuable tool to support and speed up your Jodo training.
An illustrated manual to master the fundamentals and kata of Jodo.
Jodo, the Japanese art of stick fighting, is practiced through two main systems: Shindo Muso Ryu and Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei, where it is known as Seitei Jodo. Both share the same 12 basic techniques (Kihon), but they differ in their Kata practice-12 in Seitei Jodo and 64 in SMR. Shindo Muso Ryu also incorporates training with other weapons beyond the Jo and Sword (Tachi), especially within its 64 Kata.
The Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei represents the largest international Jodo organization, making its style widely practiced worldwide. Despite Jodo's global presence, English-language resources remain scarce, with most material available only in Japanese. This notebook fills that gap by providing clear, accessible instruction.
The author, Bo Jespersen, is also known for co-authoring The Dictionary of Japanese Martial Arts with George W. Alexander and illustrating The Way of White Crane Karate, both published by Yamazato Productions.
