Six Crimson Cranes

Beskrivelse

Six Crimson Cranes tells the story of Shiori, a princess with forbidden magic who faces exile and a terrible curse. As she searches for her brothers turned into cranes, she must confront dark forces and embrace her own power.

A captivating YA fantasy inspired by the Grimm brothers' The Six Swans, set in a richly imagined East-Asian world.

Shiori, the sole princess of Kiata, harbors a dangerous secret: forbidden magic flows through her veins. On the day of her betrothal ceremony, she loses control of her power. Though this mishap delays the wedding she never wanted, it draws the ire of her stepmother Raikama, a powerful sorceress.

Raikama punishes Shiori by banishing her and transforming her brothers into six enchanted cranes. She warns Shiori that if she reveals this curse, one brother will die with every word she speaks. Left without money, voice, or allies, Shiori embarks on a quest to find her brothers and uncover a sinister plot to claim the throne.

To save her family and kingdom, Shiori must place her faith in a paper bird, a capricious dragon, and the very boy she fought to avoid marrying. Most importantly, she must accept the magic she has been taught to suppress, no matter the cost.
