In Being Creative, Vibeke Skov shows how art therapy -- through a controlled process -- can help to make people's inner emotional life visible. Art therapy and psychologically oriented creativity can support people in creating the self-understanding, clarity and maturity which ultimately can make them happy.
The creative process is described using Jung's theories in deep psychology. The Greek myths of Demeter, Oedipus, and Eros and Psyche are also used to direct and shed light on the creative process. Vibeke Skov shares several case histories in order to illustrate how clients' drawings and paintings reflect their psychological development, and how the therapist's analysis can gently guide the clients towards greater self-understanding.
