Karstad not only creates the recipes but also styles every dish himself, infusing his signature elegant and fresh design style into the presentation. The book features more than 80 recipes that are both delicious and nutritious, reflecting his deep connection to the Nordic outdoors.

Complementing the recipes, Anders Schønnemann’s photography captures the essence of the coastal lifestyle, with images taken on the beach, at sea, and in the kitchen. Karstad’s impressive background includes consulting for the NOMA team and working in Michelin-starred restaurants like Tante Claire in London, Era Ora, and Commandant in Copenhagen.

He has also led kitchens at Christiansborg, the Danish Parliament, and Horten Law firm, where he earned the Staff Canteen Award in 2012. Today, Karstad focuses on food writing, cooking, and styling for renowned magazines including Kinfolk USA, Bon Appetit USA, and Mad & Bolig (Food & Home) Denmark.
