The uniforms of California Highway Patrol motorcyclists, with their tight tan outfits, high boots, and black leather gauntlet gloves, were a particular favorite of his. Tom also designed his own hybrid uniforms, blending military and civilian police styles. His artwork features tough criminals who challenge the cops, with the balance of power shifting in unexpected ways.

Determined to portray both dominant and submissive roles as equally masculine, Tom’s cops could just as easily find themselves on the receiving end of desire as delivering it. Despite some criticism accusing him of glorifying power, Tom emphasized that his creations were purely fantasy-where everything was consensual, even in prison settings.

The Little Book of Tom: Cops & Robbers presents this theme through a mix of multi-panel comics, single-panel drawings, and paintings across 192 pages.
